Everyone spoke to respective families, loved ones and each person that mattered. They were all set for what was to come their way in couple of days’ time. Life called for celebration and U-Boot was the best option to say cheers with. After all, it was the only submariner among hundreds of audacious army mariners. Not knowing what would betide, not knowing how many of them would be alive to toast victory, extempore became the flavor of moment for them. They did toast to victory after several days of war.

It was victory for the country; Loss for loved ones.

P. S – U-Boot is a beer cocktail, a Polish and Flemish beer mix made from beer and vodka. It consists of one bottle of beer and one shot of vodka. This is a strong counterculture cocktail created with a simple goal in mind: to get drunk as fast as possible. It is called a U-Boot (German abbreviation of Unterseeboot, “submarine”) because the shot glass of vodka sinks to the bottom of the glass of beer. The shot glass then “surfaces” when the cocktail is drunk.
