#A-Z Challenge – K Is For Kir Royale
Nervousness engulfed her the moment she received his call that afternoon. He never called during work hours and after last night’s fight, she thought everything was going to be over between them. Monaco had got over her after she met him but she postulated it shall not be likewise forever. Tonight’s dinner would conclude that reverie.
“The corner table madam” said the waiter. He was seated with his back towards her and had already ordered two glasses of Kir Royale. Teary eyed, she said sorry.
Wiping off her tears, holding her hands, he asked – “Will you be mine? Forever?”

P. S – Kir Royale is a French cocktail, a variation on Kir. It consists of crème de cassis topped with champagne, rather than the white wine used in traditional Kir.
Kir is a popular French cocktail made with a measure of crème de cassis (blackcurrant liqueur) topped up with white wine. In France it is usually drunk as an apéritif before a meal or snack. It used to be called blanc-cassis, but it is now named after Félix Kir (1876–1968), mayor of Dijon in Burgundy. Kir was a pioneer of the twinning movement in the aftermath of the Second World War, and popularized the drink by offering it at receptions to visiting delegations.
