Moving the table to center of the room, he spoke to himself, “It looks proper now”. He often did that these days. The moment he glanced at the watch, the doorbell rang. There she was, standing at the door, utterly gorgeous, waiting for him to escort her inside. He fell in love with her, all over again. They raised the toast to Cuba, the place they first met on this day. They often time travel to that day when both chatted throughout the night with rounds of El Presidente.
It’s been 15 years, the ritual rounds of cocktail still follows.
P. S – El Presidente is a mix of rum, curaçao, vermouth, and grenadine. The drink was first invented in Havana during the 1910s for Cuban President Mario García Menocal, who ruled from 1913 to 1921. Cuba’s new president, Gerardo Machado, who took over in 1925, demanded his own version and the El Presidente Machado, which simply added a few dashes of curaçao, was born, which became the preferred drink of Cuban upper class.
I have signed up for Blogging From A-Z Challenge- April 2017. I would be writing 100 words fiction this A-Z season. My fiction pieces will be twisted around various cocktails.

I love how you have used that orange peel on the rim of the glass.
Happy AtoZing!
