“Tonight was not going to be like other nights” She promised to herself and hence, denied him the pleasure of raping her. She was tired of the episodes of his infidelity and did not want to be the debased one anymore. Furious at her denial, he started un-rolling his belt while she hid behind the kitchen platform. This was one place he would not search for her, at least for now. The Irish Car Bomb shots worked wonders for her. It was she who used the belt tonight. And then, she dialed 911.
Time to surrender. Time to be free.
P. S – Irish Car Bomb is an American bomb shot cocktail, similar to a boilermaker, made by dropping a shot of Irish cream and whiskey into a glass of stout. The whiskey is poured over the Irish cream in a shot glass, and the shot glass is then dropped into a glass of stout. The drink should be consumed quickly as the cream will cause it to curdle within a short time. The “Irish” in the name refers to the drink’s Irish ingredients; typically Guinness stout, Baileys Irish Cream, and Jameson Irish Whiskey. The term “car bomb” combines reference to its “bomb shot” style as well as the noted car bombings of Northern Ireland’s Troubles.
I have signed up for Blogging From A-Z Challenge- April 2017. I would be writing 100 words fiction this A-Z season. My fiction pieces will be twisted around various cocktails.
Shivered at the image of her hiding from the rapist. At least the drink helped give her courage. Rapists should rot in hell and purgatory forever.
I second you on that Shailaja. Thanks much
Short, crisp and very delicately presented narrative. Loved the use of Irish car bomb. 😊

Thanks a lot Menaka. 🙂
The story made me shiver but the picture of the Irish car bomb soothed me. I love Irish coffee (a variant of the car bomb I think)
You can say so. Cz the only addition to Irish car bomb is the guinness. The bailey’s cream and jameson Irish whiskey remain common in both.
Thanks you 🙂
