#A-Z Challenge – J Is for John Collins
The war had just ended the year before she moved into this neighborhood. She however, felt she had known facts about the old worlds much better than any of her acquaintances. She had all the happiness that one could wish for in the world. She would visit her husband at work tonight and let him know of her weird experiences in the house.
She was served the drink when she asked for John Collins. “I don’t drink. I am looking for my husband, John Collins, the bartender.” she uttered in confusion.
Shockingly, he replied “John Collins is dead long back.”

P. S – John Collins is a Collins cocktail made from gin, lemon juice, sugar and carbonated water. A recipe for a John Collins is featured in the Steward and Barkeeper’s Manual of 1869. It is believed to have originated with a headwaiter of that name who worked at Limmer’s Old House in Conduit Street in Mayfair, which was a popular London hotel and coffee house around 1790–1817.
I have signed up for Blogging From A-Z Challenge- April 2017. I would be writing 100 words fiction this A-Z season. My fiction pieces will be twisted around various cocktails.
