The dying sun, the raging tempest
And silence haunts,
Before the landfall.
I hold the fort of my heart,
Keeping clear of the impending chaos.
What is desire?
Without any longing.
What is love?
Without seething in pain.
What when someone walks away?
Without any go-betweens.
What is a promise?
If it turns redundant.
Why fake concern?
And leave a void.
Why say “forever”?
And turn all the love sore.
I free myself of all expectations,
And let go of every promise
Of future,
Of togetherness,
Of smiles and bygones,
And, Of “forevers”
‘Cz, Forever is a beautiful lie.
